Strategies & technology to prevent, detect, and mitigate elopements.
Elopements are defined as "When a patient or resident who is cognitively, physically, mentally, emotionally, and/or chemically impaired; wanders away, walks away, runs away, escapes, or otherwise leaves a caregiving facility or environment unsupervised, unnoticed, and/or prior to their scheduled discharge."
-(The National Institute for Elopement Prevention and Resolution)
It goes without saying that elopements are a very scary and potentially life threatening situations for the people we support. We do everything we can to prevent elopements from happening; often times this means adding additional unwanted oversight/supports (which could be a cause of the desire to leave unsupervised in the first place). Get ideas and technology solutions from a panel of experts that helps break this self-fulfilling elopement cycle.
This deep dive online Elopement Workshop is for everyone: provider agencies, service coordinators, state/local government entities, guardians/families, professionals, and self-advocates...basically everyone involved in disability services.
Join us from the comfort of your home or office to learn strategies and technology solutions to prevent, detect, and mitigate elopements.
